Sorry the image is a little funky today. It’s not always easy to get DS screens that look decent.
As I’ve mentioned previously, Elite Beat Agents is one of, if not the, most underrated game of all time. Not only is it a blast to play but it’s one of the quirkiest and most fun video games ever made with each stage telling a different, wacky story. Whether you’re a cat making sure a baby doesn’t get lost on a construction site or an oil tycoon discovering ancient civilizations trying to strike it rich again, the series has a wonderful sense of humor. However, perhaps the best part of the game is the one with the least sense of humor. The stage based on the song “You’re the Inspiration” by Chicago follows a young girl who sadly lost her father in an accident. The story is all about the little girl and her mother just wanting to see him and spend time with him one last time, specifically on Christmas. So the Elite Beat Agents come in to help cheer the girl and her mother up but this time without any ridiculous dances or over the top songs, they sort of just sway back and forth and move very subtly. Of course, they get to see the ghost of their father/husband in the end. It’s one of the sweetest moments in any video game, in my opinion, and a lot of that has to do with the fact that you don’t see it coming based on the rest of the game. Definitely one of my favorite gaming moments of all time.
